Aren’t sneaky adventures so much more fun than normal adventures? Well, I’m lucky enough to go on sneaky adventures with my chicken nugget every couple weeks throughout Germany.
Last weekend our sneaky adventure took place in Dresden, Germany. I won’t delve too far into the specifics of why it was a sneaky adventure, but let me just say, Dresden is beautiful!
Located only two hours southeast of Berlin, Dresden is the perfect day trip! Dresden is the second largest and capital city of Saxony. Toward the end of WWll, the Americans and Brits bombed Dresden killing roughly 25,000, which destroyed the entire city center. Parts of the city center were rebuilt to restore the cities historic architecture. (See below)

The Zwinger Palace is one of the buildings that was rebuilt to try and maintain Dresden’s classical architecture. I think the architects did a great job if I do say so myself.

As many of you may know, I was meant to be a princess. So naturally, I love medieval architecture, cobblestone roads, and cities with an old-town feel, which is why I loved this part of Dresden so much. I’ve already started planning my wedding in a fairytale town here in Germany.

Time flies when you’re having fun, right? Well, when I’m with my chicken nugget, time does more than just fly, it soars. Before I knew it the weekend was over, so Friday was really our only full day to explore the city. Dresden is very picturesque, full of history, and definitely a place to visit!
Like I mentioned earlier, we didn’t have much time to explore the city, but I would definitely recommend checking out the rebuilt Alt-Stadt and wandering around the palace. 🙂
