Paris – the city of love

My trip started out in Paris, France. To say I was excited would the understatement of the century. I had the amazing opportunity to learn about 1920’s literature, read Hemingway’s “Becoming American’s in Paris,” and tour the city. Some of my favorite destinations were The Louvre, Jardin du Luxembourg, and of course, the Tour Eiffel. 188

Anyone that knows me, knows how much of a hopeless romantic I am. I love, love and I love seeing people in love. So naturally, I loved Paris. Call me cliche, but I felt love in the air and I never wanted to leave. I saw so many happy couples showing PDA (public displays of affection.) Honestly, what’s there not to love in a city full of delicious patisseries, gorgeous architecture, and views like the Arc de Triomphe? J’adore a Paris!

Strasbourg – my real life Beauty and the Beast town

Strasbourg, France felt like a fairytale, literally. I felt like I was in a scene from Beauty and the Beast. This beautiful, picturesque town was influenced by French, American, and German culture, so most natives speak all three languages. I absolutely loved this town! We had a short stay here, but I managed to develop a great relationship with our tour guide and get this sick photo of what was once the tallest building in Europe.

I will never, ever forget my experiences in Strasbourg. On our first day in Strasbourg, we had a tour of the city and dinner. But being the person that I am, I really wanted to go exploring. I loved the cathedral in the picture above, so I decided to go back there. I was sitting on the steps near the church just taking everything in when a guy approached me with a rose. I know, unreal. He asked to sit next to me and we started talking for quite some time. After about 30 minutes of small talk, we decided to go to a local bar. We had a few drinks and genuinely enjoyed each others company. He was such a kind gentleman and at this point in my life, I was 21 and had never experienced this simple form of courtship. I know his name started with an “M,” but that’s all I remember from 3 years ago. Despite the fact that this date was completely random and just consisted of a few drinks, I still had a wonderful time. He helped restore my faith in men haha.
